Kozhikode: The sequence of events unfolded when a phone call from Police Officer Satheesan at Koyilandy Police Station reached Chompala Police Station in Kozhikode District, informing them about the disappearance of an 18-year-old man whose mobile phone location indicated Mahi area. This inteligence was relayed to SI Prasob at Chompala station, who was conducting patrols along the national highway near Azhiyur. Accompanied by civil police officers Chitradas and Sajith, they reached Mahi railway station, initiated inquiries by presenting photographs to the locals, and commenced the investigation.
As a train approached from the north, their suspicions arose, prompting them to pursue a man fleeing along the railway tracks. Despite attempts by railway station workers to intercept him, he evaded them, causing the train to decelerate, facilitating the rescue operation. The police swiftly captured him on the railway track and safely handed him over to his relatives, who arrived with the Koyilandy police.
