CHENNAI: Two persons have been detained under Goondas Act who has earlier been arrested in connection with an attempt to murder the chief accountant of a company Red Giant Movies managed by Udayanidhi Stalin, Police said.
- Saravanamuthu who works as a chief accountant was attacked by unidentified persons last year, but he had escaped with minor and grievous injuries. After this a second attempt was made on his life after which Saravanamuthu filed a police complaint with Nungambakkam police station.
Police said the history sheeter Jai alias Jayakumar of Gopalapuram was arrested by the Nungambakkam police along with his associates Mahendran, Charles and Dominique in January. During interrogation, they confessed to have been acting on the instructions of Harish, a cashier at Red Giant Movies. The police arrested Harish from his house in Aminjikarai based on their confession.
Harish had swindled a sum of ₹3 crore by forging the signature of Mr. Udayanidhi Stalin, Police said. He had hatched a conspiracy to murder Mr. Saravanamuthu and put the blame on him for the loss of money. Harish had paid 25 lakh to Jayakumar for the murder, Police said.]]>
