Aluva, Kerala: Ernakulam Rural District Police Chief K S Sudarshan felicitated four police personnel of the Aluva West Police Station for their courageous rescue of an elderly woman who had fallen into a well.
The officers — Civil Police Officers V.S. Lanish, K.K. Sujith, K.B. Abdul Khader, and K.J. Sharo — were awarded the IPS Good Service Entry in recognition of their prompt and brave action.
The incident involved 85-year-old Chandramathi of Thattampadi, who accidentally fell into a well at Mampilly Parambil. Upon receiving the information, Aluva West Police immediately rushed to the spot. Demonstrating exceptional presence of mind and teamwork, the officers entered the well and successfully rescued her, bringing her safely to shore.
The timely intervention of the police played a crucial role in saving her life.
The commendation ceremony was held at the district police headquarters in the presence of Hardik Meena, Additional Superintendent of Police, Perumbavoor.
The recognition highlights the dedication, courage, and humanitarian commitment of the police force in safeguarding lives.
