Palakkad: In a meticulously planned operation directed by Palakkad District Police Chief Mr. R. Anand IPS, the Walayar Police, in collaboration with the Palakkad District Police Anti-Narcotics Squad (DANSAF), successfully apprehended two individuals in possession of a substantial 77.786 kg quantity of ganja at the Walayar border. This specialized initiative was launched based on confidential intelligence received. The arrested individuals have been identified as Suresh Kumar, aged 34, son of Nataraj from Agali, and Irshad, aged 29, son of Muhammad Ismail from Mudalamada.P.O. Palakkad.
The suspects were intercepted while attempting to transport the illicit substance, cleverly concealed within a secret compartment of a Swift car. The authorities also seized the vehicle implicated in the smuggling operation, along with a fraudulent Andhra registration plate. The investigation revealed that the ganja had been transported from Andhra Pradesh and strategically stored along the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border in Walayar, Govindapuram, and Meenakshipuram. The arrested individuals are believed to be integral members of a sophisticated network involved in smuggling illicit substances across state borders into Kerala.
The scope of the investigation has been broadened to ascertain the origin of the ganja and the intended recipients of the illegal substance. Prior to this operation, law enforcement had successfully confiscated 23 kg of ganja at the Govindapuram state border, further underscoring the urgency of curbing these illegal activities.

Anand IPS, the operation was executed with precision and involved key personnel, including Palakkad ASP Shahul Hameed, Narcotics Cell DYSP R Manoj Kumar, Sub Inspector Harshad H, Additional Sub Inspector Suresh Babu, Senior Civil Police Officer Maraya Vinod, Suresh Kumar, Subhash, and Xavier Selvaraj. Their collective efforts as part of the Walayar Police and the District Police Anti-Narcotics Squad reflect a commitment to dismantling organized crime networks and upholding the rule of law in the region.
