<![CDATA[When around 150 pro-jallikkattu supporters, including students, youths and members of various outfits who had been continuing their protest urging for a permanent solution to conduct jallikkattu in Thilagar Thidal in Pudukkottai were lathicharged by the Police on Monday after they refused to leave the spot. Some of them left the place voluntarily, but around 100 protesters refused to leave the place and Police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd. Three agitators sustained mild injuries. The injured persons have been identified as Arun Mozhi Chozhan (40), Jothi (20) and Nallathambi (25) who were rushed to Pudukkottai GH for treatment. On coming to know about the lathicharge on pro-jallikkattu supporters nearly 200 supporters gathered in front of before the Pudukkottai GH and they raised slogans against the state government and police. Suddenly, a few of them started pelting stones at the GH. Police had to resort to lathi-charge to maintain order in the area. They arrested ten persons for indulging in violence. ]]>
