Rachakonda: Police Flag Day celebrations have been held at CAR Headquarters, Amberpet and Rachakonda Police paid floral tributes to the Police Martyrs on 21st October. Addressing the media CP Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS stated that, Police Commemoration Day has been observed across the country in memory of Ten CRPF Soldiers, who sacrificed their lives in an Ambush attack of Chinese troops on 21st October 1959 at Hot Springs in Ladakh. CP stated that from the year 2020 Police Commemoration day is being observed as Police Flag Day.
CP reminded that hundreds of Policemen dedicated their lives to keeping the country peaceful. In the present year 377 Police have sacrificed their lives on duty in the country, CP added. He reminded us that 16 Policemen from Rachakonda Commissionerate have lost their lives on duty. He further stated that various activities including Blood donation camps, Essay writing competitions, online Open houses, photography, and short film competition, cycle rallies would be organized during the observance of Police Flag Day from 21st to 31st October 2021 across the Rachakonda Commissionerate. CP welcomed the students and other civilians to actively participate in the events.
CP extended his regards to the families of deceased Police personnel present at the Parade and felicitated them. He inquired about their welfare and assured them that the grievances raised will be addressed at the earliest. CP requested the public to recognize the sacrifices of the Police. CP sought the cooperation of the citizens to keep the society crime-free.
