Kurnool: On Friday, under the direction of District SP Mr. Siddharth Kaushal IPS, a coordination meeting was held with national and private bank managers of 27 banks in Kurnool at Vyas Auditorium of District Police Office.
Kurnool Range DIG Mr. S. Senthil Kumar IPS was present as the chief guest and spoke. Several instructions were given to the bank managers. The bank officials want to see that there are 24*7 CCTV cameras and security guards near the banks and ATMs in the district.
The data of CCTV cameras should be seen to last for 120 days. They want to ensure that crimes do not take place near ATMs and banks at night. Well-behaved guards should be posted near ATMs.
Bank officials should organize awareness conferences once a month. The services of women police and volunteers should also be utilized in awareness conferences.
People should be made aware of pay loan apps, fake calls, online frauds, clicking on links and other cybercrimes. The bank officials want to help the police department. They want to set up an alarm system near strong rooms and ATMs in banks in urban, Mandal and village suburbs. Innocent people should be careful not to be cheated by loan apps.
They want to alert people about loan apps and prevent suicides from happening. While giving loans on gold jewelry, it should be confirmed. District SP Mr. Siddharth Kaushal IPS said CCTV cameras must be present in banks where more than 100 people come.
Posters will be provided to the bank officials to create awareness among the people. They should be installed in ATMs and banks. Measures will be taken in such a way that documents will be distributed door to door by women policemen and volunteers to educate people about not being affected by cybercrimes.
If the employees working in any bank commit fraud, the bank officials will register an FIR as soon as the preliminary enquiry report is given. Also, as soon as the 91 CrPC notice is given, the bank officials should respond immediately and give the information related to the case immediately.
If any of the bank customers come to the banks due to online frauds, they should be made aware of the Cybercrime Helpline toll free number 1930 and the website www.cybercrime.gov.in and file a complaint to the toll free number 1930. That will result in a cash debit freeze (instead of cash transfer) in respect of his account.
Police patrols will be increased at ATM centers on the outskirts of the town. He said that large amounts of cash and jewelry should not be kept in banks in the village suburbs. They want to keep it in banks in cities.
