Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: In a prompt enforcement action, the Liquor Prohibition Enforcement Division police arrested a youth for allegedly selling liquor illegally in the city.
According to police, the team was conducting routine patrols in the V.M. Chattiram area under the jurisdiction of Perumalpuram Police Station when they noticed suspicious activity. Upon inspection, the police found Karthik Muthu (27), son of Shanmugasundaram and a resident of Jaihindpuram in Madurai, involved in the unlawful sale of liquor.
During the operation, the police seized 27 liquor bottles from his possession. The accused was immediately taken into custody and a case was registered.
Police officials stated that strict action will continue against those involved in illegal liquor trade to maintain law and order and prevent unlawful activities in the city.
