Siliguri: The Commissioner of Police, Siliguri Mr. Gaurav Sharma IPS said it has been noticed that the general public, at many times, feels the need to meet the senior officers for redressing their grievances on any issue. For this, sometimes they have to travel long distances with a lot of inconveniences. To address this issue and for the purpose of public convenience, a visit schedule of different police units by the Deputy Commissioner of Police of Siliguri Police Commissionerate has been issued. The Zonal Deputy Commissioners of Police shall be available at the units on the dates as per the calendar from 5 pm to 6 pm to interact with the members of the public and to hear their grievances. Similarly, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic shall be available at the traffic guards on the dates as per the calendar from 11 am to 12 Noon to interact with the members of the public and to hear their grievances.
Citizens may meet the Deputy Commissioner of Police, according to the month of March 2022. For further months further schedules shall be issued before the end of the immediate previous month. This schedule should be put on display by the respective units in a legible manner and they must on the 1st of every month put up a bigger banner containing names, designation of the officer, and dates in that month in which he shall be visiting that particular unit so that the general public who come to the police station is notified well in advance. Also concerned ACP and ICs/OCs of the units must participate in those meetings. However irrespective of the above citizens may meet the senior officers at other times in their respective offices.
