Andhra Pradesh, Srikakulam: District SP Sri KV Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, emphasized that students should be informed about police weapons, equipment, and daily operational procedures. As part of the district’s Martyrs Memorial Celebrations, an open house was held at the Two Town Police Station in Srikakulam on Saturday, where police weapons and equipment were showcased. District SP Maheshwara Reddy attended as the chief guest and provided insights to students on police weaponry, technical tools, station functions, and operational protocols.
During the program, the SP highlighted various daily-use technical equipment, including communication devices, bomb disposal tools, drones, body-worn cameras; breathe analyzers, speed and gas guns, and tools for detecting explosives. Students also learned about police methods for crime investigation, including the use of police dogs and bomb disposal procedures. The SP familiarized students with station areas such as the reception, rest rooms, computer room, and property and lockup rooms, explaining the process of filing a First Information Report (FIR) and other important tasks within the police station.
In his media address, the District SP invited the public and students to attend the open house program at the Two Town Police Station, conducted as part of the district’s Martyrs Memorial Celebrations from October 21st, to view the police equipment and learn about cybercrime prevention and vigilance measures.
Additional open house programs are planned in the Srikakulam, Tekkali, and Kasibugga subdivisions. Medical and blood donation camps will also be organized for police personnel and their families as part of the commemoration. Srikakulam Sub Division DSP CH Vivekananda, AR DSP Sheshadri, CIs Uma Maheswara Rao, Emmanuel Raju, Surya Rao, sub-inspectors, police staff, and students were present at the event.
