Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: Demonstrating zero tolerance towards crimes against women and acts that disturb public peace, the Srikakulam District Police have ensured swift legal action and strict punishment in two separate cases, reflecting their strong commitment to law and order.
In a case filed by a woman from Piruvada village of Polaki Mandal, the Hon’ble Narasannapeta Judicial First Class Magistrate Court sentenced the accused to four years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a ₹20,000 fine for abusing and outraging the dignity of the woman and her daughter. The verdict was secured through an efficient investigation and effective prosecution by the Polaki Police, ensuring justice for the victim.
In another case registered under the jurisdiction of Srikakulam One Town Police Station, the Hon’ble Second Class Magistrate Court sentenced the accused to 15 days imprisonment for creating public nuisance on 10-01-2026.
Speaking on the actions, District Superintendent of Police, Sri K. V. Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, stated that Srikakulam District Police will continue to act strictly regarding women’s safety and public peace. “Anyone who harasses women, creates nuisance in public places, or indulges in unlawful activities—especially under the influence of alcohol—will face strict legal measures,” he warned.
