<![CDATA[Action on vehicles parked illegally on narrow stretches in Coimbatore City has been taken by the traffic police as they have resorted to wheel clamping. No parking boards have also been placed on many such stretches to clear illegal parking causing congestion by the police. The traffic police on Thursday imposed fine on vehicles parked on the narrow Arts College Road as the road is often witnessing congestion. More than 10 vehicles had been wheel clamped and a fine of Rs.500 was collected for every vehicle. Fine is being collected from vehicles who are parking on the right side of the road as there is only one side parking which is on the left side on Arts College Road while proceeding from Cheran Towers to Classic Tower junction said the officer. In the same manner illegal parking at the place designated for police escort vehicles in front of the combined court complex, the place in front of KG Hospital and on Huzur Road were also cleared routinely, said the official.]]>
