Wayanad, Kerala: The District Police celebrated the New Year in a heart-warming manner with the Upanishads at Pannipad, under the limits of Thondarnad Police Station, spreading joy, goodwill, and togetherness.
The police team was warmly welcomed by the Upanishads as they arrived with New Year gifts. The celebrations included cake cutting, distribution of sweets, sports equipment, and solar lights, adding cheer to the festive occasion. Laughter, applause, and songs soon created a friendly bond between the police personnel and the Upanishads.
The programme turned vibrant with songs and dances performed around a campfire, with enthusiastic participation from Upanishads and police personnel of all ages, making the celebration truly memorable.
District Police Chief Sri Taposh Basumatari, IPS, inaugurated the event and personally distributed New Year gifts to the Upanishads. On the occasion, he assured them of the police department’s continued support and commitment to stand by them whenever needed.
The function was presided over by SMS DySP Sri P.T.A. Augustin. The initiative reflected the district police’s people-centric approach and strengthened trust and harmony with forest-dwelling communities.
