Pondicherry: In Pondicherry University a postgraduate student was arrested on charges of making indecent comments/ gestures to female students on the University campus on Wednesday night.
The arrested student has been identified by the police as G Vivek Srini, 30, of Maladin in Bihar.
The Kalapet Police received a complaint that a male student was annoying the female students by uttering in- descent comments and gestures. On receiving the complaint a police team rushed to the spot and arrested him.
He was booked under Section 34BB (penalty for annoying females in public place or office) of the Pondicherry Police (amendment) Act, 1966. He was later produced before a court, which granted him bail after imposing a penalty.
