Kallakurichi : On January 14, 2024, Mr. Samay Singh Meena, the District Superintendent of Police in Kallakurichi, celebrated Equality Pongal with the police force at the District Police Office. Addressing the gathering, the District Superintendent of Police expressed satisfaction in celebrating the Pongal festival together, emphasizing its universal appeal across communities. He extended heartfelt Pongal wishes to both the police department and the public. Notable attendees included Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Manikandan, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Iramesh, Kallakurichi District Special Divisional Police Inspector Mr. Shanmugam, as well as Police Inspectors, Assistant Inspectors, Policemen, and numerous members of the public. The celebration featured participants dressed in traditional Tamil attire, including Vetti and saree, joyously marking the occasion with the traditional Pongalo Pongal chant.
