The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended a Postal Assistant employed at the Office of the Superintendent of Post Office in Dalatonganj, Palamu (Jharkhand). The arrest is in connection to the official allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe amounting to Rs.15,000 from the complainant. A case was filed based on the complaint against the accused, who was purportedly soliciting a bribe for processing an attestation form and issuing a joining letter for the position of Branch Post Master under Gramin Dak Seva. CBI, in response, set a trap and apprehended the accused in the act of demanding and accepting the bribe. The individual will be presented in court today before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ranchi.
