Ongole, Prakasam District: Fear has started in the back of corrupt police officers in Prakasam district. From the lower level staff to the DSP level officer became alert to SP Ms. Malika Garg’s accuracy attitude. The situation has arisen for the police personnel and officers to stop the corrupt activities done so far. Smuggling and unscrupulous activities have also come to a halt within the district boundaries. The investigation of cases has also accelerated. Prakasam district SP Ms. Malika Garg IPS has been encouraging people to work efficiently while giving signals that hunting is inevitable if something goes wrong. She took over as Prakasam District SP on July 15, 2021.
After Malika Garg took over as Prakasam district SP, she spent two to three months reviewing the Prakasam district and gaining a complete understanding. Home Guard to DSP, ASP level officer examined their performance in duties. Conditions in the district were different until she took over as SP. She has been giving SP counseling in her own style to the police personnel and officers who have been performing their respective duties for a long time with salutations. Much of this changed their attitude. She began to take action against those who did not change their attitude. She shows her style by encouraging those who work and taking strict action against those who do wrong.
SP Ms. Malika Garg IPS has proved in some cases that there is nothing to be neglected if one makes a mistake in duties. Strict action was taken in some incidents that took place within the confines of several police stations in the district. A Sub-Inspector has been suspended for negligence in the recent murder of a realtor that caused a stir within the Yarragondapalem police station. Similarly, Yarragondapalem Circle inspector (CI) was summoned to vacancy reserve (VR). Charge memo was issued to Markapuram DSP. Lingasamudram SI was suspended following complaints of irregularities in sand transportation. Kottapatnam SI was suspended for negligence in duties. The constable was suspended along with the ASI for alleged irregularities in the granite case and the home guard was relieved of his duties. In Bestavaripet, both the ASI and the Head Constable were suspended for creating a riot by drinking alcohol.
Action was taken against some for not tolerating the police who were negligent towards the public, complaints and complainants while on duty. Jarugumalli SI was summoned to the VR following complaints that she had been negligent in the matter of sand smugglers. More than 10 other police personnel and officers who had similarly acted negligently were also called to the vacancy reserve (VR). Remote police stations in the district are also being inspected and memos and charge memos have been issued to the police officers for their negligence in the cases in the police stations. Actions were taken against them even if the records were not maintained properly. The people of Prakasam district are happy that it is our good fortune that such an honest police officer has come to our district.
