The body of a prisoner was recovered as dead due to hanging from the Jalpaiguri Central Jail .
The name of the deceased was identified as Ranjit Roy (22). He was a resident of Bangladesh. According to local sources, the other prisoners saw Ranjit Roy’s body hanging outside an empty toilet of an old complex of Jalpaiguri Central Jail on Thursday evening.
Today the corpse will be sent for post-mortem.
