Punjab, Gurdaspur: In a significant breakthrough, Punjab Police has dismantled a Pakistan-sponsored terrorist module linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI-Pakistan), responsible for grenade attacks in the region.
The Batala Police successfully resolved two high-profile cases involving grenade attacks on the Ghanie ke Bangar Police Station in Batala and the Wadala Bangar Police Post in Gurdaspur district. Following relentless efforts, the module was neutralized, resulting in the arrest of four individuals, including mastermind Abhijot Singh. He was reportedly acting on the instructions of foreign-based operatives, Happy Passian and Shamsher alias Honey, who are believed to be residing in Armenia.
While conducting a recovery operation, two suspects attempted to escape custody by attacking the police team. In an act of self-defense, the police neutralized the threat, leaving the suspects injured. They were immediately taken to Civil Hospital, Batala, where they are reported to be in stable condition. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the full extent of this terror network.The Recovered Items aretwo weapons, including a 9mm Glock-26 pistol (manufactured in Austria), and Six live cartridges.
