Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab, June 8, 2025: In a significant success under its crackdown on organized crime, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Punjab, in coordination with Sri Muktsar Sahib Police, has arrested three absconding criminals involved in serious offences, including provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Arms Act.
The accused—Gaurav Kumar alias Billa, Vikasdeep Singh, and Lovepreet Singh—were apprehended during a well-coordinated intelligence-based operation conducted in the district. According to official sources, Gaurav alias Billa was a fugitive wanted in a case registered at Police Station City Malout, while Vikasdeep Singh and Lovepreet Singh were on the run in connection with a criminal case at Police Station City Sri Muktsar Sahib.
Foiled Murder Plot
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the trio was allegedly conspiring to eliminate a rival. Timely intervention by the police foiled what could have been a major act of violence.
Seizure Details
During the arrest, the police recovered:
- 174 grams of heroin
- 2 country-made pistols (.32 bore)
- 10 live cartridges
These recoveries point to both narcotics involvement and illegal arms possession, highlighting the multi-faceted criminal operations the accused were engaged in.
