Rachakonda: The accused Salavadi Nagaraju who is a habitual offender incurred huge losses in his real estate business and decided to cheat the innocent people by impersonating them as the actual owner of the land plots and got transferred lakhs of rupees into different bank accounts for his lavish spending in Casino centers. He collects the SIM cards from different service providers and uses the same to contact the victims. He collects the information of plots which are for sale from 99 acres.com”, OLX APP and CLASSIFIEDS in the newspapers, etc., and contacts the actual Land-Plot owners and collect copies of sale deeds through Whatsapp and collects the mobile numbers of REALTORS those are mentioned on the boards of real estate offices and calls them over the phone and induces them that he is the actual owner of the Land / Plot want to sell the Land Plot at a reasonable rate for his emergency need of money. Later he induced them to pay the amount towards the agreement, registration fee, DD charges, etc. by providing them the Bank account numbers and got transferred lakhs of rupees from them. Further, he contacts the actual landowners and tells them that he is unable to purchase the said land because of the ill health of his family members and requests them to return the token amount which was transferred into their accounts. Later, he withdraws the money through ATMs and digital transfers.
Various cases were registered against the accused at Cyber Crime Police Station, Rachakonda, Chaitanyapuri Police Station, and Meerpet Police Station by the victims who incurred loss due to the actions of the accused person. At Cyber Crime Police Station, Rachakonda alone 8 cases were registered against the accused. One each case was registered at the other police stations. The accused was identified as Salavadi Nagaraju s/o Ramchandraiah, aged about 37 years. The police seized the two mobile phones which were used for the commission of the offense.
During the course of the Investigation the Investigating Officer collected the technical evidence and after analyzing the data, on credible information, arrested the accused on 07.08.2021, produced him before the Hon’ble Court for judicial custody. Under the direct supervision and leadership of Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS, Commissioner of Police with the guidance of Mr. P. Yadagiri, DCP Crimes, and Mr. S. Harinath, Asst. Commissioner of Police the case investigated by Inspector Mr. N. Ramu Inspector of Cyber Crimes and apprehended the accused.
