Rachakonda: The Rachakonda Cyber Crimes Police busted a Fake Call Centre Racket which was having a Pan-India network, arrested 9 fraudsters in Kolkata of West Bengal including king- pins Uttam Kumar Yadav and Mudavath Ramesh and recovered property worth about Rs.20 Lakhs including Rs.1,62,000/- net Cash. A case was registered at Rachakonda police station.
The Accused persons are Uttam Kumar Yadav,(21), Organizer of Fake Call Centers, R/o. Kolkata N/o Bihar, Mudavath Ramesh,(31), Co-Organiser of Fake Call Centres and recruiter, Jarupula Shankar,(34),Tele-caller, Lavudya Raju,(19) Years, Tele-caller, Katravath Ramchander,(32)Tele-caller, Mukesh Kumar(30), Konda Jagan Mohan Reddy,(25) Tele Caller, Orse Chandu,(22) Tele Caller Centre, Gadhe Srisailam,(24) Tele Caller.
On 8.6.2022, the victim Mr. Keloth Kishan, resident of Ibrahimpatnam submitted a petition that, he had ordered a sewing machine in the e-commerce site “Naaptol and within three days he received the product. A few days later he received a post from “Naaptal online shopping Pvt Ltd”, having a scratch card in it, when scratched it showed he won a ‘Mahindra XUV car’ worth Rs.8,20,000/- in a lucky draw, On which the victim contacted to their helpline number: 9163519128 which was mentioned in the letter. On enquiring regarding the lucky draw with them, they confirmed that he won the said lucky draw. Further the accused persons impersonated as officials of Naaptol Company and asked amounts towards various charges for delivery of the vehicle or transfer its worth of amount to the victim’s bank account. On believing them, the victim transferred Rs.48,200/- into their provided bank accounts. Even after transferring the said amount, the accused continuously insisting him to transfer more amounts. Then the victim realized that he was deceived by them. Based on his complaint a case was registered at Cyber Crime Police Station, Rachakonda and investigated by Inspector Mr. J. Narender Goud.
During the course of investigation, the 10 Mr. J. Narender Goud collected all the technical evidences and identified that, the fraudsters were operating such crimes from Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal states running Fake Call Centers. After confirming on the informations, as per the instructions of the CP in coordination with Telangana Cyber Crimes Coordination Centre (T4C), Mr. Harinath ACP Cyber Crimes formed a Special Team led by Inspectors Mr. J. Narender Goud and Shankar along with staff of Cyber Crime Police Station, Rachakonda proceeded to Kolkata of West Bengal State and identified three call centers at Kolkata. Further the investigation team was split into three teams, conducted raids simultaneously over the fake call centres and arrested the above mentioned 9 accused persons, seized incriminating material objects from the possession of the accused persons and brought them to Hyderabad on a transit remand and sent them to Judicial custody.
After producing the accused in the Court, taken them into Police Custody and during which the accused admitted their guilt and confessed their offences. Uttam Kumar Yadav is a native of Katri Sarai village of Bihar State. Since 2017 he has been actively working in these Fake Call Centres, after getting expertise in this field, he started his own Call Centres with the help of his relatives and friends. He along with some other notorious kingpins in this field was Operating Fake Call Centres in Bihar Jharkhand, West Bengal and Mumbai in an organized manner and cheating the gullible people on the pretext of Providing Personal loans, Jobs, winning of Lotteries/Gifts, Redeeming of Credit Card Reward Points, and KYC Updations etc.., for committing these crimes they were collecting Customers/victims data from Data Providers such as Just Dial and Face book Ads etc. In the course of committing Gifts and Lottery frauds, they sent.
