Rachakonda: Home Minister appreciates Rachakonda Police and Telangana State Police for taking up Harita Haram program with massive plantation of 40000 trees in Miyawaki/Yadadri pattern in one day at Police Commissionerate land Medipally.
On Thursday, 29th July 2021, Mr. Md. Mohamood Ali, Hon’ble Minister for Home, Prisons, and Fire Services along with Mr. Ch. Mallareddy Hon’ble Minister for Labour and Employment, Factories, Mr. M. Mahender Reddy IPS., Director General of Police have participated in the Telanganaku Haritha Haram Program in the premises of Rachakonda Commissionerate land at Medipally and planted 40000 saplings.
Mr. Md. Mohamood Ali, Hon’ble Minister for Home and Fire Services was the Chief Guest on the occasion and he elaborated on the importance of forest cover in the state. He mentioned that a plantation target of 230 Crore saplings was given by the Hon’ble Chief Minister in Haritha Haram Program and around 90 percent of the target has been achieved with the support of Telangana people. He mentioned the commendable efforts put in by the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate in the implementation of plantation drive in the Commissionerate land. He also stated that along with other departments, it is commendable that the Police department is also contributing to such programs of the State Government apart from maintaining law and order. He suggested that medicinal plants be planted in the program for the sake of the better health of all people.
Mr. Ch. Mallareddy Hon’ble Minister for Labour and Employment, Factories, applauded CP for arranging CCTVs and actively participating in all programs across the Commissionerate. The Minister mentioned that Telangana Police is number one in the country in Law and Order and friendly policing. He appreciated the Telangana police for being in the first place to participate in plantation programs in the state.
Mr. M. Mahender Reddy IPS., Director General of Police, stated that Police Department will stand in first place in nature conservation and development. He said that, besides keeping Law and Order in the state, the Police department is also involving in many programs with the help of citizens, government, politicians, and other government departments as a part of community policing. He mentioned that the Hon’ble Chief Minister has envisioned the State Police Department not to confine to law and order and crime but to follow social policing and reach the society and let people involve in programs that Police take up to make policing easier. He appreciated all the officers, all the good Samaritans, all the other government officials who have made happen the plantation drive of 1 lakh saplings in Commissionerate premises. He further suggested that Harita Haram under the Miyawaki or Yadadri model will be taken up across all the Police units.
Speaking on the significance of trees, Mr. Mahesh.M. Bhagwat IPS, CP Rachakonda reiterated the sayings “He who plants a tree plants a hope” and that “The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second time is today”. CP further stated that aiming to support the efforts of the Telangana State Government to increase the forest cover of the state, Rachakonda Police Commissionerate has taken up plantation drive in the Commissionerate land at Medipally. A total of 1 lakh saplings will be planted in Commissionerate land and that 40000 saplings have been planted during the first phase and the rest of the 60000 saplings would be planted in the second phase, he added. CP said that around 60 verities of native species saplings will be planted. He said that the plantation drive follows the Miyawaki method which means planting saplings at a 0.5-meter distance. CP thanked the support offered by Mr. M.J.Akbar, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests, and DFO Mr. Venkateshwarlu in the plantation drive and also Mrs. Sweta Mohanty, IAS, I/C Collector, and DM, Medchal-Malkajgiri for sanctioning drip irrigation worth Rs.12 Lakhs. CP also thanked the many civilians who contributed to the program by providing material like rice husk, manure, cocopeat, etc., providing support in clearing the site, and all those forest department officials in supporting the endeavor, GHMC, and HMDA for providing the 1 lakh plants. CP has specially acknowledged all help rendered by Peerjadiguda Mayor Mr. Jakka Venkat Reddy for preparing the ground for the Miyawaki plantation. A tribute to the Harita Haram program in the form of a song was also released during the occasion and CP thanked Sri Anup Rubens, film music director, Mr. Ananta Sriram, lyricist, Mr. Krishna, Ms. Srinidhi singers, and Mrs. Hyma Reddy for bringing out the song. CP has appreciated DCP Admin Ms. Shilpavalee, ADCP CAR Mr. Shameer and Lakshmi Narayana, RI Mr. Ramarao, SHO Medipally Mr. Anji Reddy and all officers and staff of Reachakonda police for their relentless efforts for the last 20 days.

Nagireddy IPS., IGP Mr. Steephen Ravindra IPS., Additional CP Rachakonda Mr. G.Sudheer Babu IPS, IGP Mr. N.Shivshankar Reddy IPS, Ms. Rakshitha Murthy DCP Malkajigiri, Mr. Narayana Reddy DCP Yadadri Bhongiri and other officers of Rachakonda also participated in the plantation ceremony.
