Rachakonda: Today Dr. R.G. Anand, the Hon’ble Member for National Commission for Protection of Child Rights to the Government of India visited the first child-friendly Medipally police station of Rachakonda. Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda along with BBA, CWC with other police officials were present. The Hon’ble Member observed the Police Station premises and also the room of Child-Friendly Police on the first floor of Medipally Police Station. The Hon’ble Member observed and appreciated the Police following the guidelines issued by the NCPCR and also the implementation of the guidelines of POCSO Act -2012, the Child Labor (Prohibition and Regularization Act 2006) and Prohibition of Child Marriages Act -2006, Juvenile Justice Act (Care and Protection of Children-2000).
The Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS explained about the Child-Friendly Police, prevention of child marriages, the child in conflict with the law, children in need of care and protection, etc., with video on Worksite school for migrant worker children of Odisha.
Mr. G. Chandra Shekar, Sub-Inspector, I/c child welfare officer of the child (CWPO) and Woman officer Mrs. A. Kumari explained the vital role in ensuring that every child has proper and timely access to justice. The partner BBA Team, CWC Team explained about the coordination between the Rachakonda Police and Child Welfare Organization in preventing & detecting the offenses relating to children.
The Hon’ble member also interacted with some of the children rescued by the Police and appreciated the efforts. After completion of the presentation, the Hon’ble member appreciated the initiative taken by Mr. Mahesh M.Bhagwat, IPS., Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda in dealing with children and conveyed that the role model of Rachakonda Police, especially the Telangana Government will be brought to the knowledge of the National Commission and conveyed to other states for its replication. DCP Crimes Yadagiri, ACP Malkajigiri Mr. Shyam Prasad, SHO Mr. Anji Reddy, and other police officer’s attended this program. One day Police Commissioner child Eshaan of Medak in uniform has welcomed Hon’ble member, Dr. RG Anand, with flowers.
