Rachakonda: In a recent incident in Rachakonda, Hyderabad, four individuals were apprehended by the SOT LB Nagar Zone Team and LB Nagar Police for trying to cheat a complainant out of his money. The complainant, Edulakanti Prabhakar Goud, had received a call from the accused individuals, Shaik Roshan Mahaboob, Kolampally Srinivas, Bingi Vasu, and Singamshetty Ramulu, who promised to provide him with Rs.2000 notes in exchange for his Rs.500 notes with an extra 20% in cash.
Goud was lured by the accused individuals’ promise of providing him with a large quantity of Rs.2000 notes before the government banned them. He then gathered Rs.1.9 crore from his friends and family and informed the accused of the same. The accused individuals then arranged to meet Goud near LB Nagar Metro station to take the cash from him.
However, the SOT LB Nagar Zone Team and LB Nagar Police were alerted to the situation and were able to apprehend the four accused individuals before they could cheat Goud out of his money. The police found the accused individuals in possession of unaccounted cash worth Rs 1.9 crore, which they had intended to steal from Goud.
The four accused individuals were taken into police custody and will be presented in court after a thorough investigation. It is also worth noting that Shaik Roshan Mahaboob had been previously involved in a crime case (Crime No: 135/209 U/s. 120-B, 489-A,B,C,D, 420 r/w 34 IPC of LB Nagar Police Station, Rachakonda), indicating a history of criminal activity.
In conclusion, this incident serves as a reminder to the public to exercise caution and vigilance when dealing with individuals promising easy money or exchange deals, especially when they seem too good to be true.
