Rachakonda: The complainant had lodged a complaint at Cyber Crime Police Station, Rachakonda. In her complaint, she stated that she was receiving anonymous phone calls and messages from unknown persons as they saw her photo and phone number on Facebook as a female escort. Based on her complaint, took up the investigation, during which it is revealed that the accused Mekala Sheshu Venkata Krishna(20) thought that, his brother-in-law (Sister’s husband) is having an illegal relationship with the said victim and hatched a plan to defame the victim’s character in public through social media platforms. As per his plan, he gathered the victim’s photograph & phone number, and pasted her phone number and photo using photo editing Apps, and posted the same on Facebook with vulgar Telugu comments depicting her as a female escort.
During the course of the Investigation the 10 collected all the technical evidence and after analyzing the data, on credible information, arrested the accused on 07.01.2022, seized one mobile phone which was used for commission of the offense, and produced him before the Hon’ble Court and sent to judicial custody.
Under the direct supervision and leadership of Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS, Commissioner of Police, and Mr. Sudheer Babu, IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police with the guidance of Mr. P. Yadagiri, DCP Crimes, and Mr. S. Harinath, Asst. Commissioner of Police the case investigated by Inspector Mr. M. Shankar Inspector of Cyber Crimes and apprehended the accused.
