Rachakonda: On credible information, on 1.7.2022 in the early morning hours, the sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), LB Nagar Zone team along with Kushaiguda police busted an interstate drug syndicate by apprehending one interstate drug peddler named by Om Prakash Patel(32) son of Babu Ram Patel of Jodhpur district, Rajasthan State and seized Contraband Substance, Opium weighing 4 Kg and Net Cash of Rs.2 Lakhs and other material all worth Rs.35 Lakhs from his possession at Radhika ‘x’ roads under the limits of Kushaiguda Police Station. A case was registered under NDPS Amendment Act 2001 of Kushaiguda Police Station of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate. The name of another accused person is Giridhari of Rajasthan.
The Police seized Narcotic drug,Opium:4 Kilograms, Net Cash Rs.2, 00,000/-, Motor cycle bearing registration No. TS 07HR4661, Mobile Phone-1 No., All property is worth Rs.35, 00,000/-.
As part of proactive action against drug peddlers, a secret information was received by SOT, LB Nagar Zone, Rachakonda. On receipt of the same the SOT team along with Kushaiguda police acted swiftly, conducted raid and apprehended one person. On interrogation before the mediators, he was identified as Om Prakash Patel, S/o. Babu Ram Patel, Age: 32 years, Occ: Business, residing presently at R/o: PJR Colony, Chanda Nagar, Hyderabad native of Rajasthan state.
During interrogation, the accused Om Prakash Patel confessed that he is running a Kirana shop in the name and style as Jagadamba Kirana business and at Chanda Nagar. He further stated that he suffered heavy financial loss in his business and he was finding it difficult to meet his lavish life style. He came in contact with one Giridhari native of Rajasthan state. During conversation Gridhari advised him to sell opium to earn easy money and assured to supply the contraband substance Opium at reasonable price and told that huge amount can easily earn by selling it to needy persons.
About 2 months ago he went to Pippad of Rajasthan state in travel bus, procured Contraband Narcotic Substance, Opium for Rs.1,30,000/- per kilogram from Gridhari, and returned in bus and kept the opium in his house. He used to sale 1 KG Opium at Rs.6 to 8 lakhs and was looking for the correct person to sell the same.
On 1.7.2022 in the early morning hours on tip off, the Kushaiguda Police conducted joint operation along with SOT LB Nagar Zone Team and apprehended the accused Om Prakash Patel and seized contraband of 4 Kg Opium which he was ready to sell to the needy customers for an amount of Rs.6 to 8 Lakhs per kg and also the net cash of the Rs.2, 00,000/- from his possession at his instance which was received in sale of 1% of Opium.
The above arrests were made under the direct supervision of Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS., Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Mr. G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Ms. Rakshitha K Murthy, IPS, DCP Malkajgiri and Mr. K. Muralidhar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Operations Team, Rachakonda, Mr. K. Shiva Kumar, Addl. DCP Kushaiguda, Mr. D Venkanna Naik, Asst. Commissioner of Police, SOT-Rachakonda, by Mr. A. Sudhakar, Inspector of Police, SOT-LB Nagar Zone, Mr. A Manmohan, Inspector of Police, Kushaiguda Police Station, Sub-Inspectors Mr. AA Raju and police personnel of SOT, LB Nagar zone and Kushaiguda Police Rachakonda.
