Rachakonda : On credible information, Special Operations Team (SOT), LB Nagar Zone team along with Medipally police busted a drug racket by apprehending 2 interstate drug peddlers namely Pravin Kumar(22) S/o. Shankara Ram, Occ. Stainless Steel Railing Works, R/o. Beeramguda, Patancheru, N/o. Sanchore (V), Dawal Tehsil, Jalore district, Rajasthan; Dinesh Kumar(25) ,S/o. Hanuman Ram, Occ. UPVC Window worker, R/o. Rallaguda Road, Shamshabad, N/o. Band (V), Gudamalani Tehsil, Barmer district, Rajasthan are drug Peddlers and 3 consumers namely Sravan Kumar, Raju Ram and Ashok Kumar and seized 45 Grams of Contraband Substance, Heroin, 2 Motor Cycles, One Auto and 5 Mobile Phones from their possession. A case was booked under NDPS Act of Medipally Police Station of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate. The absconding accused is Savia Ram Mahadev R/o. Sanchore (V), Jalore district, Rajasthan State, he is a drug Peddler.
The police seized HEROIN (45) grams, One Bajaj Piaggio Auto, Two wheelers – Mobile Phones – 5 all worth about Rs. 35 Lakhs. As part of proactive action against drug peddlers the SOT, LB Nagar Zone, along with Medipally police busted an interstate drug syndicate. The team constituted acted swiftly and apprehended 5 accused persons. The prime accused Pravin Kumar is native of Sanchore (V), Dawal Tehsil, Jalore district of Rajasthan State. In the year 2017 he came to Hyderabad and joined in Steel Fabrication Works (Steel Railing) and later, he started his own. He has been addicted to consuming drugs, later started procuring and supplying the same to the needy persons and thus earning easy money by illegal means.
He came in contact with one Heroin drug supplier by name Savla Ram Mahadev native of Rajasthan. Later, Pravin Kumar started purchasing Heroin at low rate and selling to the drug addicted persons in high rate. He used to purchase the drugs at the rate of Rs.5,000/- to Rs.6,000/- per gram from Salva Ram Mahdev and transporting it to Hyderabad in Pearl Millet(sajjalu) through private travel buses and supplying/selling for at the rate of Rs.8,000/- to Rs.10,000/- per gram to the needy customers and earning illegally.
The accused Dinesh Kumar assists to Pravin Kumar in supplying the drug to local buyers and collects his share amount. The accused Sharwan Kumar is a Gas repairer and is addicted to consuming drugs and he too started supplying the same to his customers and earing illegally. The remaining accused Raju Ram and Ashok Kumar are consumers who used to purchase from Pravin Kumar.
On 19.12.2022, evening hours, on tip off information, the SOT LB Nagar team along with Medipally Police Station apprehended all the accused at the residence of Sharwan Kumar, located at Kranthi Colony, Medipally Police Station limits and seized 45 grams of Heroin, 1 Auto, 2 Motor Cycles, 5 Mobile Phones from their possession. The main source Savla Ram Mahadev is absconding. Efforts are afoot to apprehend the absconding accused.
Heroin which is widely known as Black tar, Smack, Horse and Skag is also consumed by snorting, smoking and injecting into veins. Its consumption adversely effects on the human body which leads to Heart attack and also damages Brain, Heart, Liver and Kidneys. Most of the drug peddlers to earn more easy money they dilute pure form of Heroin with Chemical powders like Lidocaine, Inositol and Mannitol and sell at Rs. 10,000 per gram.
It is an appeal to the people that procuring, selling, transportation and consumption of the banned Narcotics substances is a crime and punishable for imprisonment for a period of 10 years. According to Section 31A of the NDPS Act, death sentence is awarded to a drug trafficker who has been convicted once under the NDPS Act for “engaging in the production, manufacture. possession, transportation, import into India, export from India or trans-shipment, of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances.”
Hence it is a request to people/students to kindly inform to the police about drug traffickers, suppliers and consumers especially at colleges/hostels for taking necessary action against them to curb this menace. The above arrests were made under the direct supervision of Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS., Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Mr. G. Sudheer Babu, IPS.. Addl. Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Ms. Rakshita, K. Murthy, IPS., DCP, Malkajgiri Zone and under the guidance of Mr. K. Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, Rachakonda, Mr. D. Venkanna Naik, ACP, SOT, Rachakonda, Mr. P. Naresh Reddy, ACP, Malkajgiri Division, Mr. G. Govardhana Giri Inspector of Police, Medipally Police Station, by Mr. A. Sudhakar, Inspector of Police, SOT, LB Nagar Zone, Sub-Inspectors Mr. Mohd. Thakuddin, Mr. K. Prathap Reddy, and Police Personnel of SOT, LB Nagar Zone and Medipally Police Station of Rachakonda.
