Rachakonda: On 16.1.2023, sleuths of L.B Nagar Police nabbed one Gold Chain Snatcher who resorted into gold chain snatchings to make easy money to settle his debts and to live comfort life and recovered 27 grams of gold Chain and one motor cycle all worth Rs. 1.30,000/- at the instance of the accused. A case was registered at LB Nagar Police Station under relevant section of the law. The accused person who was arrested was identified as Gudem Solaiah(36) alias Samuel, S/o. Gudem Chinna Samanna, Occ. Driver & Delivery Boy, R/o. Musarmbagh, Malakpet. Hyderabad and N/o. Bilakalagudur Village. Gadivemul Mandal. Kurnool District. Andhra Pradesh.
The police recovered One Gold Chain (Weighing about 27 grams); One Hero Honda Splendor Plus Motor Cycle having fake number plate; DriveU logo T-Shirt; Red & Black color Vega Helmet. On 12.1.2023 around 15:30 hours, the complainant Mrs. Chetalla Bavamma W/o. Late Veeraiah(50), Occ. GHMC Sweeper, R/o. Biramalguda, LB Nagar went to weekly market located at SBH Colony for purchasing vegetables. After purchasing vegetables while she was returning to her residence by walk, on her way when she reached Venture-II. SBH Colony, the accused Gudem Solaiah followed her on his Splendor Plus Motor Cycle. When she entered into the by lane, the accused got down from his bike, ran after her and snatched her gold chain weighing about 27 grams from her neck and fled away from the spot on his motor cycle.
Background of the accused: The accused Gudem Solaiah who hails from Kurnool district. Andhra Pradesh migrated to Hyderabad. Initially, he worked as a private driver. Later he started working for online food and services delivery apps like Drive’u’. Blinkit. Zepto and Rapido as Part time employee. His earnings were not enough to cater to his family needs and his bad vices. He decided to commit Chain Snatchings to make easy money after watching the news of a chain snatching on Television.
Preparation made by the accused:- According to his plan he prepared well before committing the Snatching. He moved in the different colonies and finally reached to SBH bank colony where weekly market was going on. There he observed an old aged woman purchasing vegetables, followed her and committed offence.The accused was arrested and the case is being investigated under the direct supervision of Commissioner of Police. Detective Inspector of police Mr. B. Upender Rao and Detective Sub-Inspectors of Police. LB Nagar and Crime Staff for arresting the accused within no time.
In another incident that occurred in the limits of Jawahar Nagar Police Station, the crime team of Jawahar nagar Police Station caught one juvenile offender who tried to commit chain snatching. It occurred in the afternoon on 13th of this month when a lady, who runs a provisions shop, was going to her home from her shop at Maruthinagar at Dammaiguda. The Juvenile went behind her on Honda Active bike, stopped his bike, ran after her and tried to snatch the gold chain from the neck of the lady but failed to snatch. When the woman made hue and cry, he fled away on bike. On receiving the dial 100 call Jawaharnagar police and crime team reached the spot, made efforts and caught the JCL instantaneously by examining the CCTV footages. The Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Mr. D.S. Chauhan IPS lauded the swift response and immediate action of Jawahar Nagar sleuths.
