Rachakonda : On credible information, the sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), Malkajgiri Zone team along with Neredmet police busted drug syndicate by apprehending one interstate drug peddler namely Ramesh Bishnoi alias Shashipal Bishnoi and three consumers namely Vishnu Bishnoi, Sunil Danga and Arjun Ram and seized 750 Grams of Contraband Substance Opium, Contraband Poppy Straw powder 500 Grams and other incriminating Material all worth Rs.12,50,000/–. A case was registered of
NDPS Amendment Act 2001 of Neredmet Police Station of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
The police seized the following material from the possession of the accused:
Contraband Substance Opium 750 Grams,
Poppy Straw Powder-500 Grams, Net Cash Rs. 65,000/-,
Toyota Innova Car Bearing registration No. AP-07-AF-3456
Hero Splendor Bearing registration No. AP-29-AH-8606 Mobile Phones- 5 Nos.
Brief Facts:-
As part of proactive action against drug peddlers and acting on a secret information the SOT, Malkajgiri Zone team along with Neredmet Police, Rachakonda busted a interstate drug syndicate. The team acted swiftly and apprehended accused person Ramesh Bishnoi Shashipal Bishnoi alias Shashipal,a Peddler; Vishnu Bishnoi (Consumer) Sunil Danga. (Consumer) and Arjun Ram. (Consumer) at Sunil Steel and Railing and Furniture shop at Ganesh Nagar and at RK Puram Bridge, Neredmet.
The accused Ramesh Bishnoi is residing in Hyderabad since 5 months and used to work as helper in B.R Travels to earn his livelihood. Due to insufficient financial resourced he decided to procure drugs from Rajasthan and sell it in Hyderabd and earn easy money, Likewise he was involved in the activity of supplying Narcotic Contraband Substance to the needy persons. About 10 days back he went to Rajasthan and brought 500 Grams Poppy Straw powder, 750 Grams Opium and was selling to his known costumers.
On 29.11.2022 during evening hours he had come to Sunil Steel Railing and Furniture Shop at Ganesh Nagar, Neredmet, under the limits of Neredmet Police Station to supply contraband substance to the accused Vishnu Bishnoi and others. On receipt of credible information on 29.11.2022 at 19.30 hours SOT Malkajgiri Zone Team along with Neredmet Police arrested the accused persons namely Ramesh Bishnoi alias Shashipal Bishnoi alias Shashipal and Vishnu Bishnoi at Sunil Steel Railing and Furniture Shop at Ganesh Nagar, Neredmet, further on the confession of Ramesh Bishnoi Police apprehended the consumers namely Sunil Danga and Arjun Ram at RK Puram Bridge and seized total 750 Grams of Contraband Substance Opium, Poppy Straw powder-500 Grams, Toyota Innova Car Bearing registration No. AP-07-AF-3456, Hero Splendor Bearing registration No. AP-29-AH-8606, 5 Mobile Phones and Net Cash Rs. 65,000/-from their possession. Basing on the available material and confession of the accused a case under NDPS Act was registered and investigation has been taken up. Efforts are afoot to ascertain the source of the peddler and to identify other consumers.
Concentrate of Poppy straw is a product obtained in the process of extracting alkaloids from poppy straw. Poppy straw concentrate also known as crushed poppy capsule and it is a major source of Morphine. By using these poppy straw concentrate, Morphine and Heroin are manufactured for illegal trading of Drugs. There is a ban on sale and trade of Opium and poppy straw.
The police has made an appeal to the people that procuring, selling, transportation and consumption of the banned Narcotic Substances is a crime and punishable for imprisonment for a period of 10 years. According to Section 31 (A) of the NDPS Act, death sentence is awarded to a drug trafficker who has been convicted once under the NDPS Act for “engaging in the production, manufacture, possession, transportation, import into India, export from India or trans-shipment, of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances.”
Hence it is a request to people/students to kindly inform to the police about drug traffickers, suppliers and consumers especially at colleges / hostels for taking necessary action against them to curb this menace.

ACP, Kushaiguda Division, Mr. A. Narsimha Swamy, Inspector of Police, Neredmet Police Station. by Mr. A.Ramulu, Inspector of Police, SOT, Malkajgiri Zone. Sub-Inspectors Mr. P. Vasudev, Mr. G. Raghu Ramudu, Mr. B. Santosh Kumar and Police Personnel of SOT, Malkajgiri Zone and Neredmet Police Station of Rachakonda.
