Rachakonda: On April 29th, 2023, the Special Operations Team (SOT) of LB Nagar Zone, along with Saroor Nagar police, apprehended three individuals suspected of providing fake educational certificates to aspiring students and charging exorbitant amounts, based on credible information received. The suspects were apprehended under CR. NO.364/2023 U/SEC. 420, 471 R/W 511, 34 IPC of Saroor Nagar Police Station of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
The accused individuals were identified as Gottumukkala Rohit Varma, a 23-year-old businessman from Kompally, Medchal district, Tadishetti Renukesh, a 48-year-old director of Sri Venkateshwara Consultancy from Tanuku, West Godavari, and Gollapally Sravan, a 29-year-old assistant director student from Yousufguda check post, Hyderabad. Ravipally Rambhadra Rao, a 62-year-old film character artist from Erragadda, Hyderabad, Annam Dinesh, a 37-year-old from Upgrade Study Consultancy, Erragadda, Hyderabad, and Rahul Dikshith, a supplier from Himachal Pradesh, were also involved in the operation and were absconding.
Upon searching the suspects and their properties, the SOT seized 39 fake educational certificates from various universities, 486 hologram stickers, one SBSP round stamp, two High-tech Virtual Campus LLP (Designated Partner and Partner) documents, eight mobile phones, and a Maruti Ertiga car with registration number TS-13-ER-3222.
The accused Tadishetti Renukesh, who was born and brought up in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, is a postgraduate in M.Sc Zoology and is currently working as a biology teacher in a private school. He started doing consultancy work due to his meager salary, and during this period, he came into contact with Rahul Dikshith, who supplied fake educational certificates of Intermediate, Degree, and B.Tech certificates from various universities of Himachal Pradesh and other states. Ravipally Rambhadra Rao and Annam Dinesh were also supplying fake educational certificates, with Ravipally Rambhadra Rao providing backdated certificates through his son-in-law Annam Dinesh and delivering them to customers with the help of Gollapally Shravan.
The arrested accused confessed to providing fake educational certificates to more than 70-80 students and collecting huge amounts from them. For example, Gottumukkala Rohit Varma, a B.Tech discontinued student from Prudential Bank Colony, Kompally, Medchal district, approached Tadishetti Renukesh for fake educational certificates, and the latter collected Rs.1,00,000/- from him.
The arrests were made under the direct supervision of Mr. D. S Chauhan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and under the guidance of Mr. K. Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, Rachakonda. The operation was carried out by Mr. A. Sudhakar, Inspector of Police, SOT. LB Nagar Zone, Mr. A. A. Raju, SIP, and police personnel of SOT, LB Nagar Zone, and Saroor Nagar Police Station of Rachakonda.
