Rachakonda: In an effort to root out drug smuggling activities from the Commissionerate and to create a sense of safety and security among the family system, College going students, and youth not to fall into drug mafia, C.P. Rachakonda issued proceedings under PD Act against two inter-state drug peddling offenders for illegal possession, transporting Ganja from Padwa of Odisha State and Vishakapatnam agency area to Agra of Uttar Pradesh state via Hyderabad and detained them in Central Prison, Cherlapally on 25-10-2021.
The accused Devender Singh(45) (A-1) hailed from Bharathpur Town and District, Rajashtan State while the second accused Ravindar Kumar(36) hailed from UP State. They both came in contact with one by the name of Yadav, a resident of Agra of UP State and who was doing ganja business for several years. He purchases ganja from one by name Hari, resident of agency area of Araku at the rate of Rs.300/- per Kg and he would sell the same at the rate of Rs.10,000/- per Kg. As such the said Yadav had a deal with these two accused to transport ganja from Vishakapatnam, Odisha to Agra via Hyderabad for which he would pay Rs.80,000/- to them. On that, both accused agreed to the said deal and on 05.04.2021 they went to Araku of Vishakapatnam District where they met with Hari who took them to Padawan of Odisha State and loaded 200 Kg of ganja in a secret cabin in their lorry bearing registration No. RJ05GA6951.On a tip of information, the special operation team (SOT) and Hayat Nagar Police laid a trap at Word and Deed School, Hayat Nagar, and arrested both the accused on 14.4.2021 while they were transporting ganja in the lorry and seized 200 Kg Ganja along with Lorry bearing registration No. RJ05GA6951.
As such, with a view to prevent them from committing such illegal ganja peddling activities and to preserve Public health, CP, Rachakonda invoked Order of detention under PD Act against them and detained them in Central Prison, Cherlapally on 25.10.2021.
