Rachakonda: On May 28, 2023, based on credible information, the Special Operations Team of Bhongir Zone, along with Ramannapet police, intercepted a KIA car with the registration number MH-25-AW-6615 near the Ambedkar Statue in Ramannapet. Upon inspecting the vehicle, they discovered packets of ganja and apprehended four individuals. The four individuals, identified as Raju Shinde, Sanjay Chawhan, Shravan Chunnilal Sharma, and Rahul Shinde, all residents of Usmanabad in Maharashtra, along with the car, were taken to Ramannapet Police Station. During questioning, they confessed that they intended to procure and transport the ganja to Maharashtra. A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, at the Ramannapet Police Station, Rachakonda.
Details of the accused:
Raju Shinde, son of Ambadas, aged 30, occupation: driver, residing in Manduva village, Washi, Usmanabad, Maharashtra.
Sanjay Chawhan, son of Ravinder, aged 25, occupation: student, residing in Barshi Nagar, Usmanabad, Maharashtra.
Shravan Chunnilal Sharma, son of Chunnilal, aged 26, occupation: cooking (dhaba), residing in Kuria village, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Rahul Shinde, son of Pintu, aged 18, occupation: agriculture, residing in Manduva village, Washi, Usmanabad, Maharashtra. The receiver, Mukthar, is from Mumbai and currently absconding. The supplier, an unknown person from Vijayanagaram, is also absconding.
Seized property:
60 packets of contraband dry ganja (weighing a total of 120 kg).
Three mobile phones.
One car (KIA Seltos, registration number MH25-AW-6615).
The total worth of the seized ganja is Rs 24 lakhs.
