Rachakonda: On 15.11.2021 at morning hours, acting on specific information, the sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), LB Nagar Zone along with Medipally Police apprehended three drug peddlers; Thanniru Santhosh alias Sunny, Suguru Vasudeva Reddy alias Vasu, and Ponnam Rajeshwar, and seized 1240 Kilograms of Ganja, 1 Innova vehicle, 1 TATA ACE closed vehicle, 1 Tata Indica Car, 2 mobile phones, net cash Rs.5000/- and other material, all worth about Rs.2,08,05,000/- from their possession. The absconding accused are Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz (32), Chunchu Ravinder (25), and Manda Madhu alias Babu (27). A case was registered at Medipally Police Station of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
The Police seized the following materials from the possession of the accused: Ganja – (1240) Kgs, Innova vehicle bearing no.AP-09-CB-7344, TATA ACE closed vehicle bearing no AP-13-X-9111, TATA Indica car bearing no.TS-08-UE-5181, Mobile phones 2, Net Cash Rs.5000/-, Plastic bags 6, Polythene packing covers 50. The total worth of seized property is Rs.2,08,05,000/-.
The accused Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz has earlier run a travel business by plying different four-wheelers on various routes including to the agency area of Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. Whereas Thanniru Santhosh, Chunchu Ravinder, and MandaMadhu alias Babu are the drivers and working for Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz. Suguru Vasudeva Reddy alias Vasu has been running an auto garage at Balachithari Nagar near Telephone colony under the limits of Medipally Police Station and Ponnam Rajeshwar is his assistant. All the accused are well known to each other.
Being the owner of a travel agency, Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz also used to ply any of his vehicles as the driver. Thus about one year ago, he somehow got acquainted with some Ganja Peddlers belonging to the Sileru Agency area, Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. He sustained a loss in the travel business due to improper maintenance. As such, having well acquainted with the drug peddlers, he determined to do illicit transportation of Ganja so as to earn easy money. According to his plan, he subsequently got acquainted with the suppliers at the Sileru agency area and receivers belonging to Hyderabad and Maharashtra.
During this process, he also planned to use the auto garage of Suguru Vasudeva Reddy as a dumping place to dispatch the Ganja as the automobile garage is located in the own plot of Suguru Vasudeva Reddy at semi-residential zone. Accordingly, he explained his plan to others and sought their help by offering a huge amount to their satisfaction. Since Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz offered to give an amount of Rs.20, 000/- to each per trip, the drivers had agreed to attend the workshop as stated by Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz, whereas Suguru Vasudeva Reddy and Ponnam Rajeshwar also willfully agreed to the proposal of Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz as he offered to give them an amount of Rs.20, 000/ and Rs.10,000/- respectively per each task, as well as for the servicing work on his vehicles.
As per the version of the apprehended accused, Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz personally monitors this illegal work by keeping in touch with the suppliers & receivers. Whenever he receives the orders, he along with all the accused goes to the Sileru agency area and instructs Thanniru Santhosh, Chunchu Ravinder & MandaMadhu alias Babu to park the vehicles in a particular area in the forest and come back to him so as to facilitate the suppliers to take away the vehicles into the remote area in the forest and load the required material. After that when the suppliers return back and park the vehicles at their desired places, on the instructions of Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz, they collect their vehicles and leave the agency area for Hyderabad under the piloting of Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz. The accused used the vehicles to do the illegal transportation of Ganja.
But on 15.11.2021 at morning hours, on receipt of specific information, the joint team of SOT LB Nagar Zone and staff of Medipally Police Station raided the auto garage of Suguru Vasudeva Reddy alias Vasu and caught Thanniru Santhosh alias Sunny, Suguru Vasudeva Reddy alias Vasu and Ponnam Rajeshwar and seized the above three vehicles along with 1240 Kgs of Ganja including 10 Kgs of loose Ganja and other material. Actually, at the time of conducting the raid, Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz, Thanniru Santhosh, and MandaMadhu alias Babu were also there at some distance. But on observing the movement of the Police, they managed to escape. After the arrest of Shaik Yaseen alias Feroz, details of the source and receivers will be found out.
