Rachakonda, Telangana: The office of the Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, hosted a coordination meeting with festival organizers and key stakeholders on 18.08.2025 to ensure smooth and safe conduct of Ganesh Festival 2025, which begins on 27th August with idol installations and concludes on 6th September with immersion processions.
This year, special attention will be given to 5th September, when the 10th day of Ganesh immersions coincides with Milad-un-Nabi, involving religious gatherings, rallies, and processions. Police will intensify patrolling in sensitive areas, regulate traffic, and ensure peace and communal harmony.
In 2024, over 13,472 Ganesh idols were installed across the Rachakonda Commissionerate limits, and over 1,029 idols were immersed at Tank Bund. The Commissionerate is committed to ensuring that this year’s festival remains incident-free.
Key Instructions for Pandal Organizers
Use only eco-friendly clay idols; PoP idols prohibited in natural water bodies.
Mandaps must be temporary, safe, and well-barricaded with fire safety measures in place.
Install CCTV cameras, maintain proper queues, and keep surroundings clean.
Avoid DJs, provocative songs, and excessive lighting; only devotional music (6 AM–10 PM) allowed.
Encourage early immersions on 3rd, 5th, or 7th day to ease final-day rush.
Intoxication, gambling, illegal activities, or unauthorized power connections strictly prohibited.
Procession & Immersion Guidelines
Only fit and safe vehicles permitted, with one idol per vehicle.
Idols to be immersed in designated artificial ponds for PoP or approved natural immersion sites.
No firecrackers, weapons, provocative slogans, or illegal processions allowed.
Organizers must share procession participant details in advance with local police.
Multi-Department Support
GHMC & Municipal Bodies: cranes, sanitation workers, pothole repairs, waste clearance, LED lighting, mobile toilets, and removal of debris/stray animals.
Tourism Dept.: rescue boats, swimmers, and life jackets at immersion sites.
Medical & Health Dept.: 108 ambulances, medical camps, and first-aid facilities.
Fire Services Dept.: fire engines and fire extinguishers at key junctions.
TGSPDCL: uninterrupted power supply and safe electrical setups.
Transport Dept. & RTC: vehicle support for idol transportation and quick breakdown response.
HMWSSB: clean drinking water supply at immersion points.
Information & PR Dept.: PA systems for public announcements and guidance.
The Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, emphasized that public cooperation with police guidelines is vital for maintaining safety and peace during the festivities. The collective efforts of police, civic authorities, and community stakeholders will ensure that Ganesh Festival 2025 is celebrated with devotion, discipline, and harmony.
