Chhattisgarh, Raigarh: In a major crackdown on illegal scrap transportation, Punjipathra Police intercepted and seized three trucks carrying a total of 35.4 tons of illegally transported scrap, valued at approximately Rs.10.61 lakh. Acting on intelligence inputs, the police conducted a targeted operation, successfully halting the vehicles and preventing the illicit trade from progressing further.
During the operation, three individuals were taken into custody, including one resident from Bihar. The arrested individuals are currently under investigation to determine their involvement in the broader network of illegal scrap trading. Law enforcement authorities are also probing potential links to larger syndicates engaged in unlawful transportation and trade of scrap materials.
