Raipur: The Raipur Police arrested a boy who is 18 and a minor boy who is 16 for the murder of the school Director and the cashier.
Durg SSP Mr.Ajay Yadav said that on December 2 the body of the school director, Mr.Vijaynanda Wankhede was found with his head crushed in Anda village. A case was registered and an investigation was initiated. During the investigation, the police found that he was last seen with the school cashier, Mr. Anand Bibe. When a search was made for him by the police he was found missing too. Soon the police found his body at Vinayakpur village which is 15 Km away, and he was found to be killed more brutally. On further investigation, the police found that two boys were also seen with Wankhede on December 2.
The police found and identified the boys and picked them up for questioning. During interrogation, Sahu broke down and confessed to the crime. Purendra Sahu aged 18 told the police that he had failed in the class 10 exam in 2018 and was struggling to get passing marks. Meanwhile, he came across Mr.Wankhede, the Director of the school and Mr.Bibe, the cashier. He said that they offered him help in passing the 10th exam through the correspondence course and in return demanded Rs.20, 000/- from him if the task was accomplished. He said that once the results were out he found out that he passed.
Sahu said to the police that he refused to pay the amount to Mr.Wankhede, the Director of the school and Mr.Bibe, the cashier as he said that he got the pass mark through his own efforts and hard work. Sahu said that Wankhede and Bibe kept following up on the payment and he subsequently stopped responding to their calls.
The two then allegedly went to Sahu’s grandfather’s home and told him about their deal. Sahu said that this act angered him and he decided to kill them.
The police said that Sahu ganged up with a 16-year-old friend and called Wankhede to an isolated spot in Ande village on the guise of giving him the money. When the school director arrived Sahu got into an argument with him and suddenly hit him on the head with a hammer he was carrying. Wankhede died on the spot. Sahu then called up Bibe to Vinayakpur and killed him in a more brutal manner by crushing his head with a hammer and then a rock.
Sahu has been remanded to judicial custody while his minor friend has been sent to a juvenile home.
