Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh: With the objective of ensuring peaceful, incident-free and accident-free New Year 2026 celebrations , Rajnandgaon District Police organized a coordination meeting with hotel, dhaba, lodge and resort owners under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police. The meeting was chaired by the Additional Superintendent of Police and City Superintendent of Police at the Public Interaction Room.
During the meeting, police officials clearly explained safety and regulatory measures to be followed during New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Owners were advised to ensure proper parking facilities, sufficient lighting and mandatory installation of CCTV cameras at their establishments to enhance public safety. Instructions were also given to use only standard sound systems, with a warning that violations of the Noise Pollution Act would invite legal action.
To maintain discipline and public order, establishments were instructed to close within the prescribed time limits at night. Police also emphasized strict compliance with the law by directing owners not to provide rooms to underage couples and to maintain a visitor register with Aadhaar or other valid ID proof and mobile numbers of all guests. Clear instructions were issued that illegal serving of alcohol would attract action under the Excise Act.
Police officers appealed to all stakeholders to actively cooperate with the police administration to ensure celebrations are safe, respectful and within legal limits. The hotel, dhaba, lodge and resort owners welcomed the initiative and assured their full cooperation in maintaining peace and security during the New Year festivities.
