Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, May 13, 2025: In a remarkable achievement toward enhancing public safety and crime prevention, Ramanathapuram district has emerged as the top district in Tamil Nadu in terms of CCTV camera installations.
In 2025 alone, a total of 2,000 new CCTV surveillance cameras were installed across key public and strategic locations throughout the district. This large-scale initiative was made possible through active cooperation from local residents, businesses, and community stakeholders.
Superintendent of Police Mr. G. Santheesh, IPS, commended the collective spirit of the people and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their enthusiastic participation. “This accomplishment reflects the strong partnership between the police and the public. Surveillance infrastructure like CCTV not only deters criminal activity but also greatly enhances our ability to respond swiftly and effectively to any law and order situation,” the SP stated.
With this milestone, Ramanathapuram sets a model example in community policing, showcasing how collaboration between law enforcement and citizens can lead to safer neighborhoods and smarter policing.
