<![CDATA[A large consignment of red sanders logs were recovered by The Tirupati Urban police on Tuesday after arresting four persons. Officers of the Yerpedu police station lay in wait near Amanduru B.C. Colony adjoining the Yerpedu-Venkatagiri road during a vehicle checking drive undertaken in the early hours of Wednesday. The police team arrested Nagappagari Thyagaraj of Thavanampalle mandal and Kondamari Mohan of Yerravaripalem mandal, both in Chittoor district. As many as 21 logs weighing 509 kg were recovered along with the vehicle used to transport them. As the two confessed during the interrogation, a special police team rushed to Bengaluru, where they raided a red sanders godown in Gollahalli village of Bannerghatta Road, near New Electronics City. This operation not only led to the arrest of Jameer Khan of Katiganahalli in Hoskote Taluk (Bengaluru rural district) and Naveen of Homadevarahalli, situated off Bannerghatta Road, but also in the seizure of 86 red sanders logs weighing around 2,215 kg. The Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Mr.S. Srinivasulu and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Redsanders task force) Mr.Ravi Kumar said that the absconding among the accused would be arrested soon.]]>
