Ernakulam Rural: Resident associations have joined forces with the police to enhance the country’s security. SAFE-2024, a new initiative under this collaboration, was inaugurated by Ernakulam Rural District Police Chief Dr. Vaibhav Saxena IPS in Aluva. For the first time, a large-scale meeting was held in the conference hall of the district police headquarters, with representatives from the Aluva subdivision’s resident associations in attendance. Additional SP M. Krishnan, Aluva DYSP T.R. Rajesh, Special Branch DYSP V.S. Nawaz, and office bearers of the resident associations also spoke at the event. Around 200 representatives from the area’s resident associations participated, including SHOs and CROs from the Aluva East, Aluva West, Binanipuram, Edathala, Angamaly, Chengamanad, and Nedumbassery police stations within the Aluva subdivision. It was decided to develop various safety schemes in collaboration with the resident associations to ensure the security of their respective areas. The formation of a WhatsApp group at the police station level, involving all resident association members, was agreed upon, along with the decision to hold monthly meetings at the police station level and quarterly meetings at the subdivision level.
