<![CDATA[The Ashok Nagar police raided the Times Bar and Restaurant on Residency Road on Monday for running a live band. This was conducted as part of a city-wide drive conducted to nab guideline violators. The management was booked under Section 294 (sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place). Sub-Inspector Mr.Rahim, who, along with his team, raided the restaurant, said that the management had hired women for live performances. A senior police officer said that this is a violation of the permit and guidelines adding that this was not an isolated case. Over a hundred bars and restaurants are forcing female staff to perform. This drive was started following notices issued by the Police Commissioner to crack down on bar and restaurants that are violating guidelines. ]]>
