Greater Chennai: Commissioner of Police Mr. Shankar Jiwal, IPS, has ordered to take stringent action on sellers of ganja, gutkha, and other substances through “DAD – Drive Against Drugs” in Chennai City.
Following this, on 16.09.2021, on a tip-off, a team led by the Inspector of Police, S-9 Pazhavanthangal Police Station conducted surveillance near Pazhavanthangal subway and arrested Arunpandian (M/24) of St. Thomas Mount, Karthik (M/21) of St. Thomas Mount, Tamilselvan alias Kulla (M/24) of Kundrathur, Vijay (M/23) of M.G.R. Nagar, and Rakesh (M/21) of Jafferkhanpet for selling ganja illegally. 2 kgs ganja and cash Rs.600/- were seized from them. Legal action was pursued against them.
