Ramanathapuram: In Ramanathapuram Sub-Division, the police patrol vehicles in the city have been equipped with MNVR (Mobile Network Video Recorder) systems to enhance public safety, prevent and detect crimes, and provide photographic evidence in court. These cameras offer several features:
The cameras can automatically record all video and audio recording of all events, Vehicle location tracking via GPS, Integration of multiple vehicle cameras for monitoring in a control room through internet service, allowing verification of whether a vehicle has reached a crime scene, Durable data storage devices (Hard Disk) that are resistant to damage, and the ability to clearly record night events. On September 3, 2024, Ramanathapuram Superintendent of Police, Mr. G. Sandish, IPS, inaugurated three patrol vehicles equipped with these advanced cameras. District Superintendent of Police, Mr. G. Santhees, IPS, also commended Ramanathapuram Ward Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mr. Sivaraman, IPS, for arranging the installation of MNVR cameras in the police patrol vehicles.
