Salem: Mrs. Priya (25) of Edappadi Taluk, Salem District invested Rs.1,94,700/- in various installments on a fake website on the mobile phone number (89 84 86 73 39) and was unable to withdraw the invested amount. She had filed a complaint alleging that she had been cheated and to recover the money she had lost.
Regarding the said petition, Salem District Superintendent of Police Mr. Abhinav IPS registered a case on his advice and in the name of prompt action by Salem District Cyber Crime Police, one lakh 30 thousand money lost by the petitioner on 26.9.2022 was credited back to the petitioner’s bank account which was lost through online fraud. Salem District Superintendent of Police said that if you lose money, you can immediately report it to Cybercrime Helpline number 1930 and recover the lost money.
