Andhra Pradesh, Srikakulam: As part of the Sankalpam program, under the directives of Srikakulam District Superintendent of Police, Sri KV Maheshwara Reddy, IPS Garu, the District Police undertook an extensive awareness campaign to educate the public on multiple critical issues affecting society.
The campaign emphasized the benefits of the Shakti App, a vital tool designed to enhance the safety and security of women. People were informed about how the app can be used in emergencies to seek immediate police assistance and ensure their protection.
Additionally, the police highlighted the severe consequences of drug abuse, particularly the ill effects of narcotics such as cannabis and other harmful substances. They elaborated on how drug addiction leads to various social and health problems, contributing to illiteracy, deteriorating mental and physical health, and an increase in criminal activities.
To ensure the message reached the grassroots level, awareness sessions were conducted across villages, focusing on the misuse of marijuana and drugs, the dangers of reckless driving leading to road accidents, the rising threat of cybercrimes, and the increasing incidents of violence against women. The sessions also provided preventive measures and legal insights, empowering citizens with knowledge on how to safeguard themselves and their families from such threats.
Through these initiatives, the Srikakulam District Police reinforced their commitment to community welfare, crime prevention, and the creation of a safer and more informed society.
