He said that Vinayaka Chaturthi is a big festival in the jurisdiction of the three commissionerates and Ganesh idols have been set up in a record number in the city than last year.  He said that all security arrangements are being made for Ganesh immersion, road works and electrical works have been completed in coordination with other departments months in advance for Vinayaka Chaturthi festivals, and the organizers should take due care in the matter of electricity connections.  He said that a meeting was arranged with the management of Ganesh Mandapa and suggestions were taken.  Last year, 9000 idols were installed under the jurisdiction of Rachakonda Commissioner, this time 11000 idols have been installed.  Immersion arrangements and route map have been prepared, he said.

Keeping in mind the local challenges, this time they visited all the ponds and already installed cranes, and specially installed mobile cranes to lift the big idols.  He said that a plan has been prepared for the crane operator to be on duty for eight hours, and an additional crane operator has been appointed for the two cranes.

It is stated that security has been arranged for the big idols with a constable/home guard and 228 picket areas have been set up in the entire commissionerate. It is said that mobile toilets, ambulances and medical teams have been arranged during the immersion without any problems for the devotees, and mechanics and drivers from RTC have also been arranged in such a way that they are available.  Security has been tightened with an eagle eye with Root Top, She Teams and Mufti Police to prevent unsocial forces, thefts and women’s safety.  People are requested not to come for immersion after drinking alcohol.

It is stated that approximately 3600 CC cameras are being used for surveillance during immersion and command control centers have been set up in Uppal, Neredmet and LB Nagar.  He said that 6,000 police personnel have been appointed for security duties for Vinayaka immersion and 1,000 additional personnel have also been brought from the districts.  Traffic restrictions will be in place in some areas under the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate during immersion and people are advised to be aware of motorists.  Finally, people have been appealed to the police to cooperate fully in order to make the Vinayaka Namazjana peaceful.
