Virudhunagar: Ganesan (40) hails from Rajapalayam RR Nagar in Virudhunagar district. His wife is Kala. Their daughters were Shantipriya and Krishnaveni. Ganesan earned money by working abroad and started real estate business in Rajapalayam. In this situation, Ganesan’s younger brothers Murugan (39), Palanichami (37) and younger sister Gandhi (30) and Ganesan have a dispute over property issues. In this situation, in the year 2006, 3 people entered Ganesan’s house and mixed anesthetic in the food cooked by Ganesan’s wife Kala. Ganesan, Kala, Shantipriya and Krishnaveni, who had eaten the food without knowing this, fell unconscious inside the house.
Then Murugan, Palanichami and Gandhi entered the house and killed 4 people including their younger brother with a knife. The police of Rajapalayam South Police Station registered a case and conducted an investigation and arrested 3 people, the younger sister and the younger brother, for murdering their own brother’s family.
The case was pending in the District Women’s Court in Srivilliputhur. Judge Bhagwati Ammal, who heard the case, sentenced the 3 brothers Murugan, Palanichami and younger sister Gandhi to double life imprisonment and a fine of Rs.89, 000 for killing the elder brother and his family for property.
The verdict of double life imprisonment to three people, including brothers and a sister, who killed their own brother and his family in a property dispute caused a stir.
