Villupuram: Subramanian hails from SS Palayam village near Vikravandi in Villupuram district. His wife Panjali (70), their son Vijayakumar (42), is a tractor driver. Vijayakumar, an alcoholic, has a habit of fighting with his mother Panjali for demanding money for drinking. In this case Vijayakumar came home drunk in the evening and asked his mother Panjali for money to drink.
The mother refused to pay. There was an argument between the two. Vijayakumar hit his mother Panjali with a nearby stick and killed her by hitting her on the head with a nearby stone. Panjali died in a flood of blood while her head was crushed. The bystanders immediately informed the Vikravandi police and Vijayakumar, who tried to escape, was caught and handed over to the police. The police who reached the spot recovered the body of the murdered Panjali and sent it to Villupuram Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
