Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Police has honored Nooranadu SI Mr. VR Arun Kumar, who bravely confronted an unidentified man who tried to stop a police vehicle with a weapon. State Police Chief (DGP) Mr. Anil Kant IPS presented the certificate of appreciation. Kerala Police also handed over the trophy to SI Mr. Arun Kumar. The event, which was held at the Police Headquarters, was attended by senior officials including Headquarters ADGP Mr. Manoj Abraham.
Mr. Arun Kumar, who joined the service as a civil police officer in 2007, passed the SI examination in 2019 after 12 years of service. He completed his practical training at Agali, Chengannur and Pudukkad and took over as SI at Alappuzha Nooranad Station in November 2021. He is a resident of Thiruvananthapuram. He is currently on duty at Nooranadu Police Station.
An unidentified man chased a police vehicle on a scooter and stabbed SI Mr. Arun Kumar, meanwhile Mr. Arun got courage. The man then got out of the vehicle and tried to kill Mr. Arun with a knife. The SI’s fingers were injured in the attack. Mr. Arun himself forcibly arrested the accused, who said the incident took place last evening while a police vehicle was on patrol duty.
